styles are derived froni tlie same original—tiie diffcrence being that
the cathedral of Pisa is a Romanesque, that of Zara a Gothic, modifica-
tion of one style of architecture, the latter heing hy far the more con-
sistent and satisfactory.
The cathedral at Modena is another good example of this style, though
not possossing any features of muoh novelty or deserving special
mention. That of Farma is also important, though hardly so pleasing.
