heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much bette
than they? Which of you by taking thought can add on
cubit unto his stature ? And why take ye thought fo
raiment ? Consider the lilies of the field, how the
grow ; they toil not, neither do they spin : and yet I sa
unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not
arrayed like one of these. Wherefore, if God so clothe
the grass of the field, which to-day is, and to-morrow is-
cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you,
O ye of little faith ? Therefore take no thought, saying
What shall we eat ? or, What shall we drink ? or, Where"
withal shall we be clothed ? (For after all these things do
the Gentiles seek :) for your heavenly Father knoweth that
ye have need of all these things. But seek ye first the
kingdom of God, and his righteousness ; and all these
things shall be added unto you. Take therefore no
thought for the morrow : for the morrow shall take
thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day
is the evil thereof.
* Judge not, that ye be not judged. For with what
judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged : and with what
measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again. And
why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye,
but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye ?
Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull out the
mote out of thine eye ; and, behold, a beam is in thine
own eye ? Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of
thine own eye ; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast
out the mote out of (thy brother's eye. Give not that
which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls
before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and
