Ho The Vicar of Wakedaid.

Honoured Sir,
J have caHed off my imagination a few mo-
ments from the plealures thatsurround me, to
fix it upon objesfs that are Rib more plealing,
the dear little dre-dde at home. My fancy
draws thatharmlels groupe as lidening to eve-
ry line of this with great composure. I view
thole faces with delight which never felt the de-
forming hand of ambition or didrels! But wh u-
ever your happinels may beat home,i amsme
it will be sbme addition to it, to hear that I
am perfectly plealed with my lituation, and
every way happy here.

not to leave the kingdom; the colonel, who
profedes himlelf my friend, takes me with
him to all companies where he is acquainted,
and after my fh'(s vidt, i generally rind my-
self received with encrealed relpecf upon re-
peating it. I danced lad night with lady G—,
and could I forget you know whom, I might
be perhaps luccelsful. But it is my fate dtil
to remember others , while I am mylels for-
gotten by mod of my ablent friends , and in
this number, I fear, Sir, that I mud condder
you; for I have long expected the pleasure of
a letter from home to no purpole. Olivia and
Sophia too, promised to write, but leem to
have forgotten me. Tell them they are two
arrant little baggages, and that I am this mo-
ment in a mod violent paldon with them:
yet dill, I know not how, tho' I want to
