Prominent among other inscriptions is one on a miiliary
column near the well-known tomb of Flavius outside the walls of
Lambaesis.1 The date is A.D. 215. In this instance the name
of Julia Domna is associated with that of the Emperor, but on
another military column of the same date, at a place now called
Henchir-el-Bidr, the name of the Emperor stands alone.2

The similarity of wording in these two inscriptions is
noticeable, with the exception of the omission of the name of
the Empress-Mother in the latter. Among the dedications

1 C.I.L. No. 10263. Wilmanns.

: C.I.L. No. 10236. Also De la Mare and Foy, and I.JR.A. No. 4303.
