a.r. 456, after the Social War. The architecture,
that is, the excavation of this tomb, is Etruscan,
though the manner of burying in it was much simpler
than the rites and ornaments of Etruria. Beside
these, there are walls of unknown antiquity beneath
the Coliseum, the circus maximus, the cloaca max-
ima, and, to close all, the bronze wolf of the Capitol,
which is mentioned as existing in the year of Rome
457, and as having been cast by Etruscan work-
men.
