The tasteful mounting, and ornamentation, and more particularly the workmanship of the little
figure on the cover of this elegant drinking vessel lead us to attribute its execution, perhaps, to the
sixteenth, and certainly, at the latest, to the seventeenth century. It has been in the collection from a
very early period.
