Dear Professor Wolf:-
Replying to your recent letter, I am very sorry to learn
that the Donohoe Comet Medal of the Astronomical Society of the Pacific did

not reach you. I am making inquiries from the Secretary of the Society in
San Francisco, and hope that the unknown reasons for non-receipt may be
determined and that either the original Medal or an exact duplicate will
soon arrive.
It is always a great pleasure to us to receive your
letters. Your astronomical researches are extremely valuable, but we take
special delight in your work because we have welcomed you here and you
gave us a most generous welcome on your mountain.
The photograph which you received at Christmas is of
Mt. Whitney, the highest mountain peak in the United States (not counting
Alaska).
