Dear Professor Wolf
This letter will introduce Dr. Keivin Burns of
the Lick Observatory staff.
Dr. Burns has assisted me very efficiently for
several years in the determination of stellar radial velocities. He
is spending the academic year 1911-12 in study and research in Germany,
as holder of the Martin Kellogg Fellowship in the Lick Observatory. He
will be interested to see something of the splendid observatory over
which you preside, and if you would kindly arrange for this, it would
be a favor shown to the Lick Observatory as well as to Dr. Burns.
Dr. Burns is accompanied by Mrs, Burns, who dur-
ing the present year has been a computer in the Lick Observatory.
With cordial greetings, I am
Very sincerely yours,
Professor Doctor Max Wolf, Geh. Hofrat,
Direktor der Sternwarte,
K'4nigstuhl,
Heidelberg, Germany
