ASTRONOMER

UNtVERS)TY OF CAUFORNtA
MOUNT HAMILTON, January 27, 1905.
Ky dear Professor Wolf:
Yesterday we received, via
Harvard College Observatory, your cablegram announc-
ing the discovery of a thirteenth-magnitude asteroid,
which you believed to be identical with Perrine's
Sixth Satellite. Ify telegraphic response quoted
our latest observation of the Sixth Satellite and
stated that your asteroid has no connection with the
satellite. The asteroid is about three degrees from
the satellite, and my only explanation of your state-
ment is that the original cablegram announcing Pro-
fessor Perrine's discovery did not reach you in cor-
rect form.
With kindest regards,
Very sincerely yours*.
