AMERICAN GEOGRAPHICAL SOCIETY'NEW YORK
BROADWAY/ ,6?H STREET
June 14, 1930
Dear Professor Hettner:
It is very kind of you to send me a copy of your acknowledg-
ment of the medal presented to you on behalf of this Society
by Ambassador Sackett. I read your remarks with the great-
est interest and also your good letter. It is a satisfaction
to us all to know that the presentation was so well arranged.
There has just come to hand a letter from Professor Penck
who mentions the medal with much satisfaction and commends
us for the award. You may be pleased to know that similar
letters have been received from the French and British
recipients and both of them express great satisfaction
that the three nationalities should be associated this year
by the American Geographical Society in the bestowal of
its awards.
With every best wish for your good health and happiness,
believe me,
Sincerely yours
