Original e d i t i o n , much esteemed as containing many passages that are
not in the following editions. The present .copy has not the 6 preliminary leaves
which were published some years after the work and are wanting in almost all
copies, but it contains the six original preliminary leaves with the Latin title, the
address to the reader, and the preface by Corio with the dedication to Äscanio.
The two full-page woodcuts represent a woman with the coats-of-arms of the
Corio and Äscanio families and the author writing his history (repeated on the verso
of f. aa1).
Splendid copy of an excellently printed work.
