Tliis passage is filled up with sand, and the forced
passage from it communicates with the passage
above, which continues, in an ascending direc-
tion, in the same line, towards the southward, as
the passage of entrance.

At the end of this passage is a well, cut, partly in
the rock, to the depth of twenty-seven toises ;
near the well is a platform.
