We are forty to hear that there is a procefs of fo-called
renovating going on in this beautiful chapel, by fharpening up
its fculptures. We muft fay that we prefer the original cutting,
though it may be fomewhat worn by time, and have a natural
fhrinking at the idea of touching up what we prefer feeing to
be old, rather than to be vainly perfuaded by modern chifels
that it is new.
