Passion, the pillar is not shown on our little panels; this
would seem to indicate that it appeared elsewhere, that is to
say in the central part; now, it is just shown immediately
behind the figure of Christ at the Pillory. Gossart would
thus have made a triptych of this subject and we would
have here, if not the originals of the wings themselves, at
least two very good replicas painted in the Master’s own
