man struggling with a large
block of stone in an attempt
to lift it from a height. W.
Ijzerdraat has proved in
this difficult anatomical

of high talent. Mr. G.
van Kalcken, the head of
the well-known silver-

Haarlem, was visiting
with a friend an exhibition

and it was there the work
of Ijzerdraat attracted their
attention, and their assist-
ance contributed to the
success of the present
statue.
