frame carved in wood.
The handsome wire and scroll-work fire-screen,
in brass and wrought-iron, of which we show an
illustration, is the work of I. K. Tuerck, of Portland,
Ore., undertaken for L. J. Goldsmith, of that city.

CURRENT ART EVENTS.
The Cincinnati Museum Association
is holding its annual exhibition, to con-
tinue throughout the summer. Exhibi-
tors desiring to withdraw their work are allowed
to do so after the nth of July. This exhibition,
numbering between two hundred and two hundred
and fifty canvases, comprises some of the interest-
ing things in the recent exhibitions in New York,
Philadelphia, and Boston. One or two paintings
are bought by the Museum from each of these
exhibitions for the collection it is forming of the
work of contemporary painters. The summer term
in the Art Academy, beginning June 15, will con-
tinue to the 24th of August, and will be in the
charge of Mr. Vincent Nowottay. The Museum
has received by gift from Mrs. Haller, the sister of
the late Robert Blum, a group of paintings, water-
colors, and etchings, together with the artist’s col-
lection of Japanese prints, books, and other pages
forming a memorial collection in his native city.
