Gazette” of June 14, does not seem to have attracted
much notice in the Press, but we were pleased to
see a vigorous protest in the “ Saturday Review,”
which rightly points out that “ in this time of war
every home of the humanities should cherish those
permanent gifts of the spirit that enrich life and
the mind, while forming a vital bond of union
between to-day, to-morrow, and all the yesterdays
in history.”
