and on one side of the sheet. The form is that of a roll folded into
book form. Cent, xvi (first half).
Dark leather binding with arms of Bancroft in centre and
Canterbury’s added above.
Inc. Genealogia siue Linealis discensus ab Adam usque ad Brutum etc.
Initial a pen and ink drawing of God, with Adam and Eve kneeling to Him in
penitence.
Medallions occur in the text, viz.
The Fall. The Ark. Babel. Sacrifice of Isaac. David with harp. Jerusalem besieged
(with cannon). Our Lord with orb, blessing.
Armorial shields begin with William I and are given for successive kings of England
down to Henry VIII.
No text is written about Henry VII or VIII.
The work may be German. The book is a late descendant of the common Chronicle
Rolls.
