neat Gothic hand. Blue initials with elaborate red flourishing of
fair quality. Vellum wrapper.

The entire contents of this volume have been edited by the
Rev. G. Williams, B.D., in the Rolls Series, Official Correspondence
of Thomas Bekynton, 1872. 2 vols.
The documents in the manuscript are not arranged in any
chronological order, and they are printed as they stand by Mr
Williams. The true order of any document in the MS. can be
ascertained by the help of the Chronological Table in Vol. I,
p. cxxvii, and the Comparative Table, p. ccix. It does not seem
worth while to repeat here the information which is there fully
given.

The volume begins with a title in rubric :
Opusculum ex missiuis literis etc. (Rolls 1. i).
The first item is
Recommendatio Magri Willi Lyndewode etc. (I. i).
The volume ends with the letters to and from William Millington, first Provost of
King’s College, Cambridge.
There are a few marginalia by Wharton, but I have seen no
names of owners or other trace of the history of the MS. It does
not seem to have been one of those seen by Leland {Collect, iii. 155)
at Wells, but it was very likely there.
