II, 40 lines; III, 22 lines. Vol. I in two very good hands of
cent, xii; II of cent, xiv, in a clear hand ; III in a noble upright
hand of cent, ix, of the Northumbrian type.
Calf binding, pr. 2s. Given by Abp. Abbot (except I ?).

Vol. I is from Lanthony. At top of f. 1 in the xvth-cent. hand
is : In hoc vol. cont. liber pastoralis cure gregorii pape, and on
R., erased, is: Morganus canonicus de Kermerd. Nos. 124, 5 in
the Catalogue are: Libri Pastorales duo mediocres (unus liber
deficit: vicarius de Chirecestr).
Vols. II, III are from Bury St Edmunds ; see later.
I. 1. Table of chapters on ff. 1-3 a in a slightly later hand.

ad lohannem Ep. Ravenne urbis (in red and green capitals). f. 3 b
Pastoralis cure me pondera fugere (Ixxvii. 13)
Rubric and incipit written in black in the margin. A fine large
initial P in outline, faintly tinted with colours.
The hand is like that of Christchurch, Canterbury. It
decreases in size and perhaps changes towards the end.
Ends : manus leuet. 88 b.
II. 2. f. 89 blank. On f. 90a in a xvth-cent. hand is a notice of
Johannes Cassianus. Vir illustris et facundus loh. Cass,
multa scripsit—opitulante perducit. Hec vincencius in spec,
hist. lib. xx°. ca°. xiiij. Et beatus pater Benedictus collaciones
patrum cum institutis eorum monachis recomendat ad
collacionem in capitulo legendas ut habetur in regula sua
ca° xlij° et ca° Ixxiij0.
