Genealogy of William I: another hand, written the other way
of the page ......... 34
The first hand goes from Rollo to Henry III (here called
Henry IV). Another hand adds his children. A third adds
Edward I—Edward III. Yet another (or two) adds some
of Edward Ill’s children and Richard II.
On 34 b is a full-page labyrinth, circular, very neatly drawn in
red and green. Below it (xiii-xiv) the note: In anglia sunt
xlvjm et xi ecclesie matrices etc.

mouth) .......... 35
On and after 35 b the names and years of the kings are written
in a large hand in the inner margin, the rest of the page
containing paragraphs of text about them in smaller script.
Ends 42 b on Cadwallader : et angli regnare ceperunt.

Ends 45 b with Henry Ill’s coronation : later hands add lines
about Edward I—III. Some words are erased.
This ‘scanty compendium’ of William, with the additions to it,
is noticed by Hardy, Cat. II. 161, and Stubbs, Gesta Regum,
I. Ixxxviii.
