GARDEN ORNAMENT
Montacute, Somerset. Wall and balustrade bounding the north-east side of the old forecourt—now a garden. The wall is broken
by a semi-circular bastion with an open pavilion formed by six columns with a roofing of three stone ribs carrying a crown of two
intersecting circles. Each pier dividing the panels of balustrading bears an obelisk. At the outer angles are important garden houses.
