This refers to II, 5, 22. 15-18. Thus according to
BM, transl. ‘ When a person steals articles of J to J- of
a Pa$a in value, he shall be fined 6 Panas. Or his
body being bedaubed with cowdung or ashes, he may
be paraded through the streets. When a person steals
articles of | or of a Pana in value, the fine shall be
9 Panas. Or his body being bedauded with cowdung
or ashes, he may be paraded through the streets.’—
Note 1 from M, ‘When a person steals articles up to
three Panas in value, the fine shall be 48 Panas, or
his head may be shaved with a piece of brick, or he
