et io.«, la portion la plus intéressante du plan gé-
néral de la charmante propriété du prince de Mont-
beliard, en Alsace; 2.° les plans, coupes, éléva-
tions des façades et détails des divers édifices qui
concourent à son embellissement.
Nota. Chacun des édifices est envoyé par son
numéro correspondant à celui du plan général.
Cette propriété fut établie sur un terrain de
534 toises de longueur et 286 de largeur, d'après
le programme que le prince donna, en 1787, à l'ar-
chitecte Kleber, devenu, depuis la révolution, gé-
néral du plus grand mérite.
Cet artiste avoit déjà, comme architecte, donné
des preuves d'un véritable talent, tant par l'étendue
de ses conceptions, que par ses connoissances théo-
riques et pratiques, lorsque l'art militaire lui ou-
vrit une nouvelle carrière à la gloire. Il a prouvé
enfin, qu'il n'est aucun art qui puisse être au-dessus
d'un grand génie, toujours supérieur à toutes diffi-
cultés.

Contient la première partie du plan général,
lavoir : celle qui tient au principal corps de bâti-

estate of the prince of Montebelliard, in Alsace ; 1° the
plans, copings, height of the fronts and the more mi-
nute parts of sundry edifices composing its embellish-
ments.
Nota. Each of these edifices is indicated l>y a number
corresponding with that of the same edifice in the
general plan.
This estate was laid out on a piece of ground 554
fathoms long and 286 wide, according to the program
given by the prince, in 1787, to the architect Kleber,
who became after de révolution a general of the
greatest merit. This artist had already, as an architect,
given proofs of real talent both by the extent of his
conceptions and his theorical and practical knowledge,
when the military art opened to him a new road to
glory. He has proved in short that no art is above the
reach of a great genius, ever superior to every diffi-
culty.

Contains the first part of the general plan, namely,'
that which belongs to the main body of the dwelling-

der verschiedenen Gebœude des prsechtigen Landguts des
Prinzen von Mümpelgard im Elsass. Die drey erste Tafeln
des 4.ten, 7. ten und 10.ten Hefts stellen den interessantester»
Theil des Hauptplans vor.
lYota. Ein jedes Nomero von die Gebseude sind an dem
haupt plan angezeigt wo sie aufgebaudt sind.
Dieses Gut wurde von dem ehemaligen Baumeister Kleber,
seit der Revolution berühmt gewordenen General, nach dem
vom Prinzen selbst im Jahr 1787 gegebenen Plan, auf einem
Grund von 534 Klaftert lang und 286 breit , angelegt.
Schon als Baumeister hatte dieser Kuenstler Beweise seines
grossen Talents, sowohl in Rücksicht seiner viel umfassen-
den Pläne, als seiner theoretischen und practischen Kennt-
nisse gegeben, als die Kriegskunst ihm einen neuen Weeg zum
Ruhm bahnte. Er hat dadurch bewiesen, dass keine Kunst
ist, die nicht einem grossen, alle Schwierigkeiten Süberwin-
denden Genie untergeordnet wäre.
