Historical — comprising relics of guild art, artistic
craftsmanship, material culture, military history, relics and
documents pertaining to the history of the city — including
the period of Nazi occupation. Documents pertaining to the
development of Bydgoszcz in the Polish People's Republic
are also being gathered;
Numismatics — its most valuable possession is a col-
lection of coins struck at the Bydgoszcz mint, as wefl as
a collection of military items;
Leon Wyczoikowski collection containing some 500
paintings, drawings and prints, as well as personal memo-
riais of the artist;
A r t — presenting the works of the Bydgoszcz artist M.A.
Piotrowski (1813—1875), Polish painting from the late 19th
and 20th centuries, and modern painting, sculpture and
graphic art, especially the works of artists from Pomerania.
MEMORIAL ROOM in the former apartment of Adam Grzy-
maia-Siedlecki, literary critic and dramatist, 1876—1967,
(in the stage of organization).
The Room will be the nucleus of the future Theatrical Mu-
seum. The collection includes mementoes of A. Grzymaia-
Siedlecki, various theatrical exhibits, books by authors of
the "Young Poland" period, letters of the writers S. Przyby-
szewski and T. Boy-2elenski.
BYSTRA (Katowice Voivodship, Bielsko County)
THE JULIAN FALAT BIOGRAPHIC AND ARTISTIC MU-
SEUM, branch of the Museum in Bielsko-Biaia. Located
in "Falatowka", the artist's house, it contains paintings
by and mementoes of Julian Faiat (1853—1929).
BYSTRZYCA KLODZKA (Wroclaw Voivodship, Kiodzko
County)
PHILUMENISTIC MUSEUM, 1 Littie Market Square, tel.

opened in 1964 in the former Protestant church buiit in
1804; it was subsequently expanded into the next building'.
The museum is devoted to the history of fire. The coilec-
tion ranges from mediaeval fiints, flint and chemical lighters,
miner's lamps, early electric lamps, and matches from a hun-
dred years ago to the matches of our time. Also shown
is the whole technoiogical process of the present-day pro-
duction of matches. A separate group of exhibits is match-
box labels, with special emphasis on the function and the
graphic form of tne labels since 1945. Apart from philu-
menistics, the museum has also a Regional Exhibition, serv-
ing as a permanent centre of knowledge about the region
of Bystrzyca.
