sibios in Naples. The graceful water-horn dis-
covered almost intact, in 1872,011 the Esquiline,
should not be forgotten. On it was once the
name of an Athenian master ("of Athens" alone
remaining); and about the mouth are beautiful
representations in relief of excited Mamads.
Its standard is also of exquisite shape; and,
altogether, it must have formed a beautiful
decoration for the Roman water-works at the
so-called Trophies of Marius, where it was
