i48 EXPLANATION OF THE TABLES.
H A branch srom the upper part of the olsaclory, or sirst pair os nerves,
dividing upon the septum narium into two branches *.
I The nasal branch of the secohd branch of the fifth pair os nerves.
K A branch sent outwards srom I.
LM A large branch srom I, running along the bottom os the nose at the
root os the septum narium.
N A small twig from this nerve, running downwards and sorwards, with
the canalis incifivus, which is a large tube in all quadrupeds.

where they are much larger than in man, discovered this remarkable branch, and traced it eauly, as
it foon receives a firm external coat.
