Posillipo - Panorama.
Costeggiando la Via Caracciolo, avendo a sinistra il mare, a destra dei pa-
lazzi imponenti, delle ville pittoresche, degli alberghi sontuosi, godendo di un
panorama affascinante, superbo, si raggiunge Capo di Posillipo ; soggiorno deli-
zioso ed indimenticabile. Da questo estremo lembo di Napoli, al quale la natura
fu tanto prodiga di beilezze, si gode un panorama, che forse non ha l’eguale al
mondo. Alio sguardo si spiegano la bella Napoli, il Vesuvio, il gólfo, le isole
e quanto altro di più meraviglioso si possa immaginare. È un vero angolo di
paradiso.
V’è la famosa grotta di Seiano, e sulla sua via, lo storico palazzo dèlia Re-
gina Giovanna, eretto da don Anna Caraffa, oltremodo pittoresco.

En longeant la rue Caracciolo, ayant à gauche la mer, à droite d’imposants
palais, des villas pittoresques, des hôtels somptueux, en jouissant d’un panorama
enchanteur, on atteint Capo dì Posillipo, séjour délicieux et inoubliable. De cette '
extrémité de Naples, à laquelle la nature fut si prodigue de beautés, on jouit d’une
vue, qui, peut-être, n’a pas d’egale au monde. Sous le regard s’étendent la belle
Naples, le Vésuve, le golfe, les îles et tout ce qu’on peut imaginer de plus pit-
toresque. C’est un véritable coin de paradis.
On remarque la fameuse Grotte de Sejan, et sur son chemin, le palais hi-
storique de la Reine Jeanne, erige par Anna Caraffa, et très pittoresque.
