The Challenge Cup fell to Forester, and thus left
the School House for the first time. The general
average was a good one and the attendance even
larger than last year. Mrs. Armitage gave away the
prizes. As in 1888 the band of the Kaiser Wilhelm
No. 110. were indefatigable, and, at the close of
the second day, we were nearly favoured with that,
in Germany, most novel sight, a bandsmans' race;
unfortunately the big drum voted it infra dig „für
deutsche Soldaten".
