Un jeuue hoinnie presse\
Vaudeville par E. Labicbe.
Dardard . . . Mr. H. Adams
Pontbicliet „ E. Hays
Colardeau . . . „ S. Hammerton.
In the German piece we hardly know whom to
praise most, as to mention any one specially would
be invidious. Amtmann Vierling was extremely good,
and for those who remember Edwardes I acting in
Monsieur Hercules, „the pleasure" was enhanced.
Malchen made a very strapping girl, but ma-
naged very well, especially with her skirts and hat.
Lieutenant Schwan was „rührend" in his love mak-
ing and his agonised cry „Ich Avar ein Esel," rings
still in our ears.
Doctor Blase was beautifully got up and impe-
netrable ; there is a legend that he visited Prep, as a
future parent without being recognized, and he was
sufficiently active even Avithout his beloved Wurzel
„Ginfeng". Ferdinand made an excellent student, one
could quite believe his tales of the Unfug he used
to do, indeed is it not written in the annals of the
College.
Steward's part was small, but his Avhiskers Avere
a dream and Avould excite the envy of any Ober-
kellner. Todd as Bedienter had no chance of show-
ing Avhat he can do.
The French Play Avas very good also. Dardard
might have been more alert and „presse" but the part
was a Arery difficult one. Pontbicliet Avas exactly
Avhat he ought to have been and Colardeau's criste
que j'ai envie de dormir Avas unrivalled.
