JENHEIMER.

and cries of „No Goal" and „Lynch him" rose all round
from the spectators. Our Forwards now seemed so
unduly elated and lost what little head and play they
had collected up till now, and played wildly and thought-
lessly, letting a three-quarter run right up to our line
where he was eventually stopped, but another man took
the ball and being stopped by Price threw the ball right
forward, but the Referee not seeing it, another home
three-quarter ran in and touched down unmolested. The
try was not converted, Cavendish catching the ball
several yards from the goal line, revertheless the crowd
persisted in clapping and crying „well kicked" and „good
goal". There were only another three minutes of play,
and very rough and bad play it was, mostly squabbling
and disputing.

The match was a very wretched one from an observer's
point of view, no more or less than one side simply
straining and exerting itself to the utmost, against an
opposite side hardly even playing up as well as in a
practice game. The ground was certainly wretched and
the touch lines badly marked out, indeed it was really
very hard to tell where you were, yet our team were
not nearly so good as usual. None of the Forwards
deserve especial mention for really good play although
Clark certainly ma)' for backing up better than any of
the others, and among the rest Price and Cavendish
are about the only ones that played a really good game.
The former was perhaps a little rough. H. A. Nimmo
officiated as Referee.

The following composed our team:

Neuenheim: R. G. Bellairs, back; Roberts, Ash,
half-backs; Cavendish, Houseman, Price (and de Ber-
nales for 2nd part of time), three-quarter backs; Ranking,
Weber, Page, Hill, Hanky, C. de Bernales (for ist
part of time) Clark, Stoker II, Wyatt II, forwards.

N. C. F. C. versus Karlsruhe (Association).

This match had been fixed for the 9tn of December,
but this date, it was afterwards discovered, fell on a Sun-
day, so the it was changed to the ist of November at
