DER NEUENHEIMEB.

great applause. Hill I failed to convert.

Half-time was soon after called the ball being in neutral
territory.

After five minutes interval Hill I started the ball again
and Löble with a good kick returned into touch just past the
half-way flag. Then the Cannstatt forwards again heeling
out smartly, as in the former half, enabled Oesterlen to score
again after some splendid passing. Heineken failing to add
the major points, Mr. Kent kicked off from 25 and following
up well collared his man before he could return. Neuenheim
now rushed the scrums in splendid style, wheeling and
dribbling well, and soon after some splendid passing between
school backs enabled Mr. Kent to cross the line again not far
from the goal posts. Hill II converted with a drooping kick
the ball just sailing over the bar. The scores were now equal
and Cannstatt for a time held the upperhand, but Neuenheim
were not to be denied, and after some time again returned to
the charge. There the German team made a fatal mistake,
They heeled out the ball about ten yards from their line and
Mr. Kent intercepting a pass scored his last try. The kick,
an easy one, was converted by Hill I. Cannstatt now played
up with great dash, but the home forwards played up pluckily,
and for a time held them in check. But two minutes before
time the Cannstatt forwards heeled out, and their three-quarters
running without any opposition Loeble scored a try which
Heinekon failed to negotiate. Soon after this, time was called,
Neuenheim winning a hard and exciting game, and retrieving
their last year's defeat by 2 points.
