October 31st, and resulted in a win for the Town by 18 points
to 5. At 2.30 Hodges kicked off towards the Cemetery and
play settled down in the home 25, the ball being mostly con-
fined to the scrum. Our opponents were very heavy forward,
but our pack worked extremely well, and it was not till nearly
20 minutes had elapsed that the visitors scored, through one
of their three-quarters, the same player scoring again within
the next few minutes. Neither try was improved upon.
Just before half time Mr. Hill obtained the ball from a line-
out, and after a dodgy run, scored in the corner, the shot at
goal going wide, so that the points at half time were 9-0, in

The School showed much better form in the second half
and several times shoved the Town forwards. Mr. Sessions,
picking up the ball after a long dribble, scored near the flag,
but no goal resulted. Soon after, owing to some clever play
between Taylor and one of the halves, the former was enabled
to score twice in quick succession, but neither shot was sueess,

ball into the enemies 25, and from a brilliant pass by Stogdon,
Bishop scored between the posts, and converted his try, no
side was sounded immediately afterwards.

The School must be congratulated on the form they showed,
seeing that this was the first time they had played together,
and the opposing team was very strong.

Team as follows :—

B. Jewell (back); C. Palmer, C. Bishop, C. Williams,
H. Sutherland (three-quarters); E. L. "Warren, D. E. O'Flynn
(half-backs); B. Hodges (capt), C. E. Jones, S. Jones,
E. H. A. Stogdon, K. Earnworth, L. Pfordten, M. Cleeves,
N. Howard (forwards).

N. C. F. C. v. Heidelberg Town.

This Match was played on the College ground, on Nov.
6th, and resulted in an easy win for the College by 26 points
to 3. The College team showed great improvement, the three-
quarter line being especially remarkable for their good pass-
