Neuenheim College v. Mr. Bodington's XI.
The above match was played on the School Ground on
July 9th. Warren won the toss for the College and was
accompanied to the wicket by Mr. Benfield. After making 11
Stevens bowled the latter, who was succeeded by Mr. Copinger
Hill. The bowling was completely collared, Mr. Hill especially
treating the bowling with scant respect. Warren after
making 15 gave place to Jewell who ran himself out. Mr. Hill
contiuuing to do most of the scoring until joined by Landvoigt
who quickly scored 14. None of the rest did much, Mr. Hill
carrying his bat for the grand but somewhat lucky score
of 77. The side being all out for 154.
