forward's foot. Now as regards the halves, thoy are rather
inclined to be selfish and to refuse the three-quarters their
fair chance; when his side is on the offensive, one of the halves
ought, to stand some yards away from the scrum, near enough
to receive a pass from his brother-half, and thus give help to
the three-quarters. If their side is on the defensive both the
halves ought to be close up to the scrum and be smart on the
opposing halves. One more hint for the serum: they ought to
back one another up much more than they do, I have seen a
man make a very good dribble and then find it of no use, simply
because he over-ran the ball and there was nobody backing
him up. These are the faults in the team which struck me
most; hoping that the hints may be of some use
I am,

Yours sincerely,

An Onlooker.

Dear Sir,

Is it not hard, that often when we Neuenheimers go
down to the " Dorf Condit " we cannot find a place to sit
owing to the fellows from Heidelberg College It used, as
far as the writer knows, to be an understood thing that the
Neuenheim Conditorei was for Neuenheim College fellows,
and Kralls in the Haupsharsse for Heidelberg College. Won't
somebody rectify this seeming misunderstanding on their
part ?
