DEE NEUENHEIMER.

SOME OLD BOYS' LETTERS.

Mr. W. A. Knyvett, writing from Gya, Bengal, says : —

" The Neuenheimer " of June, 1903, just in, the first that I
have had for nearly two years. I need hardly tell you how pleased
I was to get news of the old School. I see that Neuenheim has
beaten Heidelberg on the river, for which I heartily congratulate
the-crew. In my time, if you remember, the boating was very low
and we were very pleased with oursel ves when we won the junior
race, the first year it was rowed. Of course, as I expected, we won
the sports as usual, with Algy Fallowfield. He won the mile the
last year that I ran in the sports at Neuenheim and shewed great
promise to establish a record for the half-mile.

I heard from Maclean about a year ago ; he was about to be
transferred into the Bengal Cavalry, but I have no idea where he is
now. You might let me know what O.Ns. there are in Bengal at
the present moment as we might rise to a dinner in Calcutta.

I have just been stationed near to French Chandernagore, and
made great friends with the French Governor, to whom I always
talked French. I am at present in the Bengal Police and like the
life immensely. I have done very well so far as getting good billets
goes, and the pay is more than enough to live on if you are lucky
in passing your vernacular. The cold weather work is delightful
as it is mostly spent in camp witli lots of shooting and fishing. I may
be coming homo on leave in about another year and will try to get
over to Heidelberg for a week or so.

A cheery communication comes from Mr. J. E. Landvoigt,
at Hoboken, New Jersey : —

It seems hard to realize that I have been here nearly two years,
and that in as man}' more, with luck, I will be an engineer, i often
look at the pictures of the footer teams, which are hanging here in
my room, and think of the old days at Neuenheim, and our outings
to Frankfurt and Stuttgart. What jolly times those were. The
" Neuenheimer " is the only thing that keeps one more or less in
touch with the Old Boys, and I am looking forward to the arrival of
the next number.

I am enclosing a money order for ten dollars, my brother's and
my contribution towards the prizes for the sports. I sincerely hope
this will arrive on time.
