the districts of Egypt. Every ancient site is marked
by an accumulation of fragments of coarse pottery,

With four lines of demotic on one side, and two on
the other. 8-| inches by 3 inches.

104. Fragment of Red Pottery.—Part of a
round vessel containing thirteen lines of Sahidic. It
is a letter from some person to a superior, whom he

of all the lines are broken off, so that it is impossible
to ascertain the exact meaning of the whole. In line
5 occur the words crov piyre pt, tt€l efior v To.., "the
10th day of this month of Tobe ('?)." 3f inches by
3-g- inches.

105. A Fragment of a Eed Earthen Vessel.—
Containing six lines in demotic, apparently a
reckoning. 6 inches by 5^ inches.

106. Bugle Beads, from a mummy.

107. Fragment of a Bed Earthen Vessel.—
Containing six lines (and a fragment) of Greek, as
follows :—
