188. Premonstratensian monastery in Zwierzyniec from the Vistula riverside; in

The present form of the monastery complex is the result of the
1596-1626 reconstruction. The interior of the church was redone
in 1777 by Father Sebastian Sierakowski, who created a homoge-
neous classicist composition, including the altar niche, the co-
lonnade around the walls and the armchairs in place of stalls.
Three roads radiate from the centre of old Zwierzyniec, in
front of the Premonstratensian monastery. The first leads along-
side the Vistula towards Przegorzaly and Bielany; the second
climbs the Blessed Bronislawa Hill towards the Kosciuszko
Mound, past a beautiful estate of villas from the begining of our
