THE ARGUMENT.

Polyphemus, one of the Cyclopes , jealous of Acis , who was in
Love with Galatea, kills the Youth with a Rock which he threw at
him, and his Blood is changed into a River, which bears his Name.

On Lilybaum blows the gentle Weft,
Peloros Cliffs the Northern Bear furvey,"
Who rolls above, and dreads to touch the Sea.
By this they fteer, and favour'd by the Tide,
Secure by Night in Zancles Harbour ride.
