On the ends of cases 790, 800, working drawings on
squared papyrus for a wooden shrine, shown in front and side
view. The side view explains for the first time the curved
top of a shrine, as a C spring from which the inner shrine was
hung by twisted cords. Other twisted cords below kept the
inner shrine from swinging. Thus the whole could be taken
in processions, without any vibration of the sacred objects.

certainly Mediterranean, but not yet identified. 822. Pan-
