ghezza e m. 120 di larghezza.
In esso si svolgevan importanti giuochi olimpici e combattimci-ti fra
gladiatori e bestie feroci.
AMPHITHEATRE
C est une grandiose construction de l’époque romaine de forry.e ovale,
pouvant contenir 20.000 spectateurs. Il comprend tro’s rangée', de gradins
et mesure 130 m.- de longuer sur 120 m. de largeur. Dans 1’. mphi héatra
avaient lieu d’importants jeux olympiques et des combats entre gladiateurs
et bêtes féroces.
THE AMPHITHEATRE *
This is a colossal Roman edifice, oval in shape, capable of seating
30.000 spectators. It is divided into three tiers and measures 130 metres long
and 120 metres wide.
Here were held the great Olympic games and fights between gladia-
tors and wild beasts.

e ’nem Fassungsraum von 20.000 Zuschauern. Es besteht aus drei Haupt
tifen und misst 130 m in der Lange und 120 m in der Breite.
In demselben wurden berühmte olympische Spiele und Kämpfe zwischen
Gladiatoren und wilden Tic en abgehalten.
