Tempio di Giove e Arco di Nerone.
Era il principale edificio sacro del Foro. Dedicato dalla Colonia Sillana
a Giove Ottimo Massimo, chiude il fondo della grande piazza del Foro ergen-
dosi su alto podio sagomato al disopra di tutti gli edifici circostanti e fian-
cheggiato ai lati da due archi trionfali. Quello di destra qui rappresentato, è
F Arco di Germanico, volgarmente detto di Nerone.
Temple de Jupiter et Arc de Néron.
Consacré par la colonie de.Sylla au culte de Jupiter Optimus Maximus,
il était le plus important parmi les édifices sacrés du Forum. Il s'élève au
fond de la grande place sur un haut soubassement au-dessus de tous les édi-
fices environnants, flanqué de deux arcs de triomphe dont celui de droite,
représenté ici est l’arc de Germanicus, communément dit de Néron.
Jupiter Temple and Arch of Nero.
Dedicated by the Suilanian Colony to Jupiter Optimus Maximus, this
temple was the most sacred edifice in the Forum. It shuts off the lower end
of the large squate and stands well above the surrounding buildings, on a high
carved podium. It is Hanked by two triumphal archs chat on the right, here
represented, beeing the Arch of Germanicus, usually said of Nero.

Von den Kolonisten Sullas dem Jupiter Optimus Maximus errichtet, war
dieser Tempel das wichtigste Kultgebäude der Forums. Er erhebt sich .auf
hohem Unterbau alle umliegenden Gebäude überragend, an der Rückseite dei5
grossen Platzes zwischen zwei Triumphbogen von denen der rechte, hier darge-
stellt, d-r Triumphbogen des Germanicus ist, gewöhnlich des Nero genannt.
