Even Bauldy, the-bewitch'd, has quite forgot
Fell Madge's, tawz, and pawky Maufe'sj>)ot.
SiiWill. Kindly old man, remain with you this day!
I never from these fields again will stray;
Masons and Wrights shall ioon mv house repair,
And bussy gardners shall new planting rear :
My father's hearty table you soon shall fee
Restor'd, and my best friends rejoice with me.
Symon. That's the best news 1 heard this twenty year!
New day breaks up, rough times begin to clear.
Gland. God save the king, and save Sir Williamhng,
To enjoy their ain, and raise the shepherd's sang.
Roger. Wha winna dance, wha willrefuse to ssng?
What shepherd's whisfle winna like the spring >
Bauldy. I'm friends with Mauje,-with very Madgt
I'm 'greed,
Altho' they skelpit me when woodly sseid;
I'm now fu' blyth, and srankly can forgive,
To join and sing, Langmay Sir William live.
Madge. Lang may he live*-and, Archbald, learn
to steek
Your gab a-wee, and think before ye speak,
And never ca' her auld, that wants a man,
Erse ye may yet some witches fingers ban.
This day 1 11 with the youngest of ye rant,
And brag for ay that 1 was ca'd the aunt
Of our young lady.-my dear bony bairn!
Veigy. No other name I'll ever tor you learn: .»
And, my good nurse, how shall I gratefu' be
For a' thy matchless kindnessdone for me?
Maufe. The ssowing plea su res of this happy dr*y
Does fully all I can require repay.
Six Will. To saithful Symon, and, kind Glaud, to~\

And to your Heir.s I give in endless feu, r*
The mailens ye possess, as justly due, 3
For acting like kind fathers to the pair,
Who have enough besides, and these can spare.
Maufe, in my house, in calmness, close your days,
With nought to do but sing your Maker's praise.
