7. K XVI C/4:
Perhaps part of No. 6.
8. K XVI C; x:
Part of a thick plano-convex disc (a pot-cover?); diam., ca. 11.4 cm.; thickness, on
edge, 1.4 cm.; thickness, in middle, 2.7 cm.
9. K III comp. 4/1:
Part of a thin disc-cover; diam., ca. 13 cm.; thickness, ca. 0.5 cm.
Inscribed with the butt-end of a cartouche, in which no signs are preserved.
10. K XXXIII A:
Fragments of edge of two different thick discs, similar to No. 8 above, in form and size.
6. GLAZED PEBBLES
Blue-glazed pebbles of quartzite were very common on the surface over the whole site,
but especially around K I, and in the southern part of the cemetery. Lepsius “saw also
blue-glazed pieces of quartz.” In the debris around K I, a small number were found, and
in particular, the three green-glazed crystals mentioned above in paragraph 4 (Su 164,
Trench H). A few were also found in front of K II and in the filling of K X. None were
found in circumstances which made it probable that they had been placed in the graves
with the funerary furniture.
The following list gives the more important examples of their occurrence:
1. K III center upper debris:
Thirty-two blue-glazed, quartzite pebbles. These were in disturbed debris and may be
counted as surface pebbles.
2. Kill A:
Sixteen blue-glazed, quartzite pebbles. These also were in disturbed debris, thrown
back in the main burial chamber after plundering, and probably came from the sur-
face.
3. K 320: x; K 333: x:
One whole quartzite pebble and one half of a broken pebble. Found in the upper debris
of these plundered graves and probably from surface.
4. K IV comp. 1; comp. 11:
One broken pebble, from surface debris.
One pebble, from filling.
5. KIVB-60:
Two green-glazed quartz-crystals, stuck together by the glaze. These were on the floor
of the sacrificial corridor just at the end of the plundered part.
6. KIVB:x:
One pebble, in the upper debris.
7. K X comp, east of massive wall:
Ten or twelve blue-glazed pebbles. Found near the bottom of the compartment in the
filling.
8. KXB-8; K X B-8; KXB-9:
Twenty-two glazed pebbles. Found in the disturbed debris of the sacrificial corridor.
9. K XVI C/5:
One blue-glazed pebble. In disturbed debris.
