5. TYPE V. KOHL-POTS
Kohl-pots occur in three main forms: V-l, broad-bottomed, both squat and tall;
V-2, narrow-bottomed, also both squat and tall; and V-3, a tall, slender, shouldered jar.

Of these, only the shouldered jar (Type V-3) came into use before the Xllth Dynasty.1
But all are too well known in the Xllth Dynasty to require much discussion:

In the following list, the examples are grouped according to provenience. Nos. 14, 16,
18, are of blue marble (f); Nos. 6, 9, 15, of slate; (*) and No. 34 is of black-line blue
