II. The chies Inftruments are sour,
i. Gravers, 2. An Oy 1 ftone, 3. A Cu-
(hion, 4. Aburniftier.
III. Gravers are of three forts, round
pointed 3 (quare pointed, and Lozeng
pointed. The round is bejl to fcratch
with all: the square graver is to make the
largeji jlrokes : the Lozeng is to make
jlrokes more fine and delicate : But a gra-
ver os a middle fize betwixt the square'
and Lozeng pointed^ will make the jlrokes
or hatches floow with more life and

I VY The Oyl-stone is to whet the
Gravers upon, which muft be very
fmooth, not too soft, nor too hard, and
without pinholes. <
