in the gale, and a boat approaching to assist her, occupy the
centre. A bright ray of casual light serves to contrast the
solemn grandeur of the tempestuous scene.

sails set, is at a little distance in the middle, followed by a
boat; several vessels, one firing a salute, are seen towards the
horizon. Two fishing boats are on the right and front, and
