Anders is a genuine
Swedish peasant name ;
but of the shepherd boy
who watched his sheep
and carved horses and
cows, painting them with
the juice of berries and
flowers, there is nothing
left in the elegant painter
and etcher, except a warm
feeling for nature and
home, and an intense love
for warm colours which
are to be found both in
his pictures and his neck-
ties.
When fifteen years old
he began to attend the
Academy in Stockholm,
and then intended to be-
