Crafts at the New Gallery

In the exhibit by Paul Cooper there is some
exceedingly nice work in gold and silver—chains
that are delicately wrought, very simple in thought
and carefully finished; and the same care and
finish may be seen in the gold and silver orna-
ments by Harold Stabler, whose mind turns

willingly towards designs of an ecclesiastical nature.
The neck chain with little kneeling angels hanging
from it is an interesting piece, the mixing of gold
and silver and the slight touches of colour are
happily worked out. One can feel in this work the
influence of H. Wilson, perhaps our finest silver-
smith, who is also an exhibitor in this collection.
