unique and wonderful book was made nearlv forty yean
ago. Since then photography and colour-reproduction
bare made such rapid advances towards accuracy that*
with the permission of tbe Authorities of Trinity College.
Dublin, the Editor of "Tbe Studio " has issued a volume
in which tbe most beautiful and important pages and
many of the wonderful initials of tbe Book of Kells have
been reproduced in colours. For artists, and particularly
for designers, tbe Book of Kells has proved a fruitful
source of inspiration ; indeed, to uD interested in art to
any form this masterpiece of illuminated manuscript
is a household word. The letterpress by Sir Edward
Sullivan, Bart, is of absorbing interest.

"STUDIO" ADVERTISEMENT RATES

The charges for Undisplayed Advertisements in the columns
"STUDIOS. ETC., TO BE IMT OR WANTED," and MIS-
CELLANEOUS" is 5/- for 3 j words (about four lines) or less.
Additional words are charged at the rate of Gd. per line of eight
words. "EDUCATIONAL" and small "DESIGNS WANTED"
Advertisements are inserted at the rate of 15/- per inch Single
Column, and can only be accepted under these headings.
IMPORTANT.—New Advertisements and alterations in current an-
nouncements should reach thi3 office not later than the 26th day of
the month previous to publication; but small announcements will be
accepted for the HOUSES and STnmoSand MISCELLANEOUS
column up to the last day of the month if accompanied by a
remittance.
